Diamond Cuts - Sweet

Dough (Step 1):

  • 1 cup all-purpose powder
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup water (or more, if needed)
  • 2 cups oil for frying

Syrup (Step 2):

  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 5 cloves cardamon (or ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder)


Step 1:

  • Make a dough with the above ingredients.
  • When making the dough, add water gradually.
  • Set aside for 10 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into four balls.
  • Roll out the dough balls into a thin sheet.
  • Cut into diamond shapes.
  • Heat the oil for frying.
  • Fry the dough until crispy and golden.
  • Set aside.

Step 2:

  • Boil ¼ cup of water.
  • Add ½ cup of sugar.
  • Add the powdered cardamom (or cardamom powder).
  • Keep stirring until the sugar is melted.
  • It should have one-string consistency.
  • Turn off heat and add the diamond cuts to the sugar mixture.
  • Mix well until the diamond cuts are coated.
  • Let it cool before serving.
