Potato Mezhukupuratti

(Potato Stir Fry)

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut
  • 1 medium or large onion, sliced
  • 3 green chilis, slit and cut in half
  • 10 cloves of garlic, sliced
  • 2 stalks of curry leaves
  • 4 whole red chilis
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seed
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for Frying


  • Wash potatoes and remove the skin.
  • Cut potatoes into the size of French fries.
  • In a frying pan, add oil.
  • When the oil is hot, add potatoes, onions, garlic, green chilis, red chilis, chili flakes, fennel seed, curry leaves, turmeric, and add salt to taste.
  • Cook on medium heat and stir in between.
  • It will take about 10 to 12 minutes to cook or cook until the potatoes are tender.
  • Remove when cooked to a colander that is layered with paper towels in order to absorb excess oil.
  • Potato Mezhukupuratti is ready to serve. Enjoy!
