Rava Ladoo with Coconut

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tablespoons ghee or butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons cashews, broken in half
  • 2 tablespoons golden raisins
  • 1 cup Rava (also known as Semolina or Cream of Wheat)
  • ½ cup desiccated coconut *
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ cup whole milk

Instructions
 

  • In a hot pan, add 4 tablespoons of ghee.
  • Add cashews and fry until golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Add golden raisins and fry until they plump up. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • In the pan with the same ghee, add Rava and coconut. Fry for 2-3 minutes by mixing until a fragrant aroma comes.
  • Add cardamom powder and sugar. Mix well for 1-2 minutes.
  • Then add ½ cup whole milk and mix for 2-3 minutes.
  • Then add fried cashews and raisins back into the Rava. Mix for another 1-2 minutes.
  • Remove mixture from the pan and transfer to a bowl or plate to cool slightly. Do not let it cool too much or it will harden.
  • Once able to touch and still warm, roll small sizes of Rava mix into a ball. (ex. 1 tablespoon amount of mixture).
  • Place on a plate to cool.
  • Rava Ladoo is ready to serve. Enjoy!
